More than 70 firefighters are currently tackling a blaze that has broken out at a cafe and shop at London Zoo.
Around three-quarters of the zoo’s adventure cafe and shop and half of the roof is currently alight, the London Fire Brigade reported.
According to officers, there is a animal petting area nearby. It is not known whether any animals have been involved in the fire at this stage.
A photograph shared by the fire brigade on Twitter shows smoke billowing from the cafe and shop while firefighters attempt to get blaze under control.
Ten fire engines were called to the scene in north-west London just after 6am.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
A spokesperson for London Zoo said that site is “dealing with a situation that is still ongoing”.
