
HIGH blood pressure, also known as hypertension, does not have obvious symptoms, however it is the third biggest risk factor for all disease in the UK. Around one in three adults in the UK has high blood pressure and many would not even know they have it - half of people with high blood pressure are not diagnosed or receiving treatment. This is the reason why high blood pressure is often referred to as the “silent killer”.
