MILD kidney disease may currently affect up to a third of the population. Symptoms of the condition include urinary tract infections, itchy skin, and swelling of the legs. Researchers have now linked the disease to a heightened risk of developing and dying from cancer. But doctors remain optimistic the study will help improve outcomes for patients.
